The writing is descriptive and wryly amusing. We shake our heads at the antics of our gun-toting, truck-driving country brethren but come to realize we are more alike than different...If you're looking for a quick but chuckle-filled read, visit Stonely at every opportunity. Suddenly, your own crazy relatives won't seem so bad! Mysterical E

There are twists and turns worthy of the highest levels of mystery writing, and humor at every turn – and if you think that is easy to do, let me assure you that either one is difficult on its own, but combining them borders on impossible. Michael Gleason

The heart of Murder Talks Turkey is Gertie. If she lived in the south rather than the far north, we’d call her a “steel magnolia.” When she is on the lam, Gertie does it in a style not before seen in crime fiction. On the book’s back cover is a quote from a Cozy Library review that calls the Yooper Mysteries a “hoot with a heart.” That sums it up nicely.” Cozy Library

Baker's animal-themed adventure of three madcap ladies' exploits in Michigan's Upper Peninsula will make you chuckle and keep you guessing.  Kirkus Review

Murder Talks Turkey is a delight to read. In addition to the engaging mystery, it's a wonderful story of the love of family and friends. And for Gertie, maybe just maybe a new significant other. One of the more amusing features of the book is the new word a day contest that Gertie and her friend Kitty are participating in. They must not only use the word, but use it correctly, something Kitty frequently has a problem with. It's a small touch, but it adds a personal element to the story that makes it all the more special and entertaining. Mysterious Reviews

I loved Gertie’s crusty take-charge attitude, yet there is definitely more to her than meets the eye. She leads such an interesting life in a small community, full of characters. One way or another, sure or unsure, she’s going to take life by the horns and live it. You never know what tomorrow might bring.

And all of her tomorrows are very full. Between Gertie’s problems with her family and the hot water she gets into with the law, there’s always some sort of action or drama unfolding. Mix in a well-plotted mystery and you have nothing short of good entertainment told Gertie’s way. Once Upon a Romance
